 Approach And Training

Using a strength based and client centered approach, Ashley utilizes elements of talk therapy, play therapy, expressive therapies and cognitive behavioral therapy strategies in her work. To best support clients and their needs, she tailors each session to meet the client’s unique strengths and challenges.

Ashley believes that providing parents and children with strategies that they can implement at home and school is essential to success in therapy. She works closely with parents and teachers to create plans for increasing positive behavior, building confidence and relationships, and improving a child’s functioning at home and school. In addition, she offers practical ideas for parents to help their children develop, learn, and thrive both at home and in school.

Ashley has undergone trainings in various evidence based interventions including: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), supportive parenting for anxious childhood emotions (SPACE), trauma informed yoga, Resilience Builders and play therapy/expressive treatment modalities.
